Jefferson
County Alabama Tornado Damage
The Jefferson county album contains aerial images I shot on April
28, 2011, the day following a tornado which ripped through central Alabama,
starting at the MS/AL state line, and continuing East across the Alabama/Georgia state
line. The storm caused hundreds of deaths, billions of dollars in property damage,
and wiped entire towns, communities, and subdivisions from the face of this
earth. My heartfelt prayers go to every single victim.
Tuscaloosa Alabama Tornado Damage
Prior to inflicting damage in Jefferson County, it struck the city of Tuscaloosa Alabama.

Cahaba Heights Alabama Tornado Damage
At approximately 530am the morning of April 27, 2011, an F2 tornado touched down in the town of Cahaba Heights, a suburb just a few miles south of Birmingham. It wasn't until nearly 12 hours later that another storm caused all of the destruction in Tuscaloosa and beyond. This tornado event was quickly overshadowed by the larger and later storm, however the damage was still severe, and newsworthy. The residents of this community also suffered losses, and that needs to be recognized.
